Thurarshen Jeyalingam, MD
Gastroenterologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist
Dr. Jeyalingam is a gastroenterologist and therapeutic endoscopist at University Health Network and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed his undergraduate studies and medical school at Queen’s University, and subsequently undertook Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, MSc and Clinician Investigator training at the University of Toronto as a Philipson Scholar. Dr. Jeyalingam then went on to complete an Advanced Fellowship in Luminal Therapeutic Endoscopy at the University of Calgary focused on endoluminal tissue resection, deep bowel enteroscopy, and management of Barrett’s dysplasia. His research focuses on how we assess endoscopic trainees for entrustment, the role of artificial intelligence in improving colonoscopy quality, and how programs of assessment can be used to improve endoscopist performance and ultimately, patient outcomes.
